Ribbyn collects what it needs to run recognition programs honestly, and states it here in plain terms.
- 01
Who is responsible
Slice of Media, Inc., trading as Ribbyn, decides what personal data Ribbyn collects and what is done with it, and is responsible for it. Write to [email protected] with any question about this notice.
- 02
What we collect
Your email address and display name when you create an account. What you follow. Claims, corrections and disputes you file. Bids and the billing details of a sponsor organization you manage.
When you vote, your email address is used once to confirm the vote and stored only as a keyed hash so the same address cannot vote twice.
- 03
What we never do
We do not sell personal data. We do not show sponsors who voted, who follows what, or who visited a page. Vote totals are published; voters are not.
- 04
Abuse protection
To keep votes honest, Ribbyn records a keyed hash of the network address and browser of each vote attempt, and may use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from scripts. These hashes are reviewed only when a vote looks coordinated, and are not linked to a public identity.
- 05
Payments
Card and payout details are held by Stripe, our payment provider. Ribbyn stores a reference to the saved method and the last four digits, never the number.
- 06
Email
Transactional email (sign-in links, vote confirmations, bids, reviews) is sent through Resend and cannot be switched off while the account exists. Reminders and digests can be switched off in your account.
Asking to be emailed when results are out creates a Ribbyn account with that address and follows the program for you. It is the same one-click link as signing in, and Ribbyn keeps no separate reminder list.
- 07
Analytics and errors
Ribbyn uses PostHog for product analytics and Sentry for error reports. Both receive an account identifier and role, not your email or name, and analytics can be blocked with your browser's tracking settings.
- 08
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account by writing to [email protected]. Recognition records about an entity are public editorial content and remain published; personal account data is removed.
- 09
Where data lives
Ribbyn runs on Vercel and Supabase in the United States. If you are outside the United States, your data is processed there.
